Directions:
In order to help us with remembering and using the terms for poetry, we need a lot of practice. For two days, we will be working at different stations to practice figurative language and other elements of poetry. We have a lot of fun activities in store so get excited!
Figurative Language Centers:
- "Busy as a Bee" Figurative Language Center: Read the card and decide which element of poetry it being shown. Write the type of figurative language that is being used in the coordinating boxes.
- "Pockets of Poetry" Figurative Language Center: Read each poetry card and decide which element of poetry it is showing. Place the card in the correct pocket. Show your work on your recording sheet.
- Princess Penelope: Read the passage and follow the directions for some figurative language fun!
- Idiom Match: Match the PB & J to find the meaning of the idiom.
- Valentine's Day: Read the card and decide which element of poetry it being shown. Write the type of figurative language that is being used in the coordinating boxes. This posted throughout the room/hall.
